I am excited to share a bit of our trip over the long weekend at Sandal's Premier All-Inclusive, South Coast, in Whitehouse, Jamaica. After deciding to catch a non-stop flight from MCO (Orlando) to MBJ (Montego Bay), we headed for customs and luckily we were in and out of the line within 15 minutes. We have heard that sometimes the lines can be multiple hours and many people opt to purchase Club Mobay's premier VIP access, we opted to roll the dice. We later researched that nothing was available for us to take advantage of this, but at $83/person for their bundle package, we are glad we opted out of this.
We were greeted at Sandal's lounge at the airport and after someone whisked our luggage away, our names were called to head out to get our included transfer to South Coast, a good 1-1/2 hour ride one way from the airport. We were lucky on the way to the resort to snag a private ride to the resort and met a wonderful driver who basically gave us a mini-tour of everything we passed on the way to the resort.
Upon arriving at the resort, we were escorted to Club Sandals, the exclusive check in for those that opt into the Club Level rooms at the resort. If you decide on a suite with a butler, you are whisked away to your room, if ready, to do a private check in. We did arrive quite early, but we were given a Jumpstart and cold towels to freshen up after our morning of travels. When our room was ready, we were escorted to our room to do a quick tour of things and explain what was available to us at Club Level and like that we were ready to start our vacation!
We enjoyed our king room, with sitting area and walk in shower However, the highlight of our room was the view and our soaking tub for two on the balcony. We could close the curtains at night to enjoy a private bath for two or we could soak in during the day and enjoy the amazing ocean views and cool breeze from being on the 4th floor. We also had a full stocked refrigerator and bar area, along with 24/7 room service. Each morning, we would call down to order breakfast and then go back and lay down and enjoy the view until our breakfast was brought to us, something you can enjoy with having Club Level. If you opt for a butler, you can arrange the night before with a certain time and they will come and set it up for you.
My wife and I stayed four nights at South Coast, soaking up the sun by day and entertainment at night. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants, the drink selections and the many friends we made along the way. The grounds were amazing and well kept and the staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect at every moment. We enjoyed water skiing, paddle boards, kayaks and a private sailing out to the 5 mile long coral reef off the beach. There is a lot to do at this resort and could keep couples busy from wake up until they are tired out for bed.
